Justice Nani Tagia and Justice Gunnu Anupama Chakravarthy Sworn In As Judges of Patna High Court
The oath of office was administered by Bihar Governor Rajendra Arlekar
Justice Nani Tagia and Justice Gunnu Anupama Chakravarthy have been sworn in as judges of the Patna High Court in a ceremony held at the Raj Bhavan.
The swearing-in event was attended by several dignitaries, including Patna High Court Chief Justice K Vinod Chandran and Assembly Speaker Awadh Bihari Chaudhary.
With the new appointments, the total number of judges in the Patna High Court has reached 34, even though the sanctioned strength is 53 judges.
Justice Tagia was transferred to the Patna High Court from the Guwahati High Court, where he practiced as a senior advocate before his elevation in 2020 to the bench.
Justice Chakravarthy, originally from the Telangana High Court, was later transferred to the Patna High Court. Her legal career began in 1994 at the Andhra Pradesh High Court and transitioned to judicial services later in her career. She served as the Registrar General at the Telangana High Court and on 24 March 2022, was sworn in as a judge.
