Khaitan & Co represented a client on succession matters and enforcement of a Will before the Delhi High Court

The leading law firm in India, Khaitan & Co advised a client on filing a suit before the High Court of Delhi, seeking relief in relation to a Will executed by the client’s late father and the deceased’s estate. The Will, being the last declaration of the father’s intentions regarding his movable and immovable properties, included bequests in favour of the client. The suit was filed to give effect to and enforce the Will, and interim reliefs were also sought, including temporary injunctions and appointment of a local commissioner.

After hearing the submissions of the Parties, the Court was pleased to issue notice. The Court further granted temporary injunctions restraining the Defendant, her agents, nominees, employees, representatives, or any other person acting under the authority of the Defendant from, in any manner, alienating, transferring, assigning, conveying, selling, encumbering, or creating third-party interests in immovable or movable properties. Additionally, the Court also allowed the prayer for inspection of a property at Golf Links for preparing an inventory of paintings being of high value and exclusive in nature.
