Garg Vyas

Garg is seasoned professional with a demonstrated history of working in Intellectual Property domain with more than 14 years of rich experience, vision and insights to strategically plan, direct and organise corporate intellectual property to grow the bottom line.

Currently Garg is Senior General Manager for Cummins India Group of companies and subsidiaries, In his current role, Garg is heading the IP vertical across pan India group of companies of Cummins. Garg has experience in dispute resolution, managing smooth coordination of diverse teams and resources to accomplish the objective; with proven track record of offerings minimising IPR risk exposure, due diligence and IPR audit and strategy to support business growth and performance, supporting IP transaction and advisory and development of sustainable IP portfolio for the organisation Garg is also active member of National Committee for IPR by Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) towork on various IP policy matters, provide guidance and support to the industry across sectors and the society.

He has extensive experience as IP Counsel for managing IP Drafting, Filing Prosecution ,litigation, IP transaction and advisory and deriving the organisation IP strategy supporting innovation protection strategy, Brand protection and anti-counterfeit strategy. Garg also worked in areas of IP research analytics and advisory, New product protection and innovation advisory, IP portfolio management and business support.

Before Cummins, he had worked in capacity of lead IP counsel at major conglomerate as Bajaj Electricals Ltd., CG Power and Industrial Solutions Ltd (Formerly Crompton Greaves Ltd.) to name a few.

Garg is certified TRIZ Expert. He holds a master’s degree in Intellectual Property Rights and a bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering. He has also completed his bachelor’s degree in Law from Gujarat Universitx`y. He is registered patent agent with Patent office India.
