Baker McKenzie Advised European Bank For Reconstruction And Development On Strategic Investment In Breadfast
Baker McKenzie advised European Bank for Reconstruction and Development on strategic investment in Breadfast
The global law firm, Baker McKenzie Cairo – Helmy, Hamza & Partners, has advised the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) on its strategic investment in Breadfast, Egypt’s leading online grocery delivery platform, as part of its Series B2 funding round.
The investment, made alongside Novastar Ventures, will support Breadfast’s expansion plans, including the establishment of new fulfilment centers across Egypt, enhanced technology infrastructure, and an expanded private-label product portfolio to strengthen margins.
Hani Nassef (Partner and Head of M&A, Baker McKenzie Cairo) commented, “We are proud to have supported EBRD on this strategic investment in Breadfast. The transaction reflects our ability to navigate complex cross-border equity investments and deliver tailored legal solutions that align with our clients’ commercial objectives. It also highlights our commitment to supporting innovation and growth in Egypt’s tech-driven consumer sectors.”
The Baker McKenzie team included Hani Nassef (Partner), Ingy El Kady (Senior Associate), and Hala Mohamed (Associate) in Cairo, with additional support from colleagues Emery Mitchell, Tom Quincey, Abigail Saffron, Kartik Singh, and Nick Neuteufel from the firm’s San Francisco, London, and Los Angeles offices.
