Bird & Bird and Al Busaidy, Mansoor Jamal & Co advised Oman Air on acquisition of 90% stake in SalamAir
The global law firm, Bird & Bird, working alongside the Oman Law Firm, Al Busaidy, Mansoor Jamal & Co, advised government-owned Oman Air on the proposed acquisition of 90% of the issued share capital of SalamAir, Oman. The transaction involves Oman Air acquiring a majority stake in the low-cost carrier while maintaining separate operational identities for both airlines.
Pursuant to the transaction, Oman Air and SalamAir will continue to operate as independent brands with distinct service offerings and target markets. SalamAir will retain its focus on the low-cost segment, while Oman Air will continue as the Sultanate’s full-service national carrier.
