Debevoise Advised Mitsui on $1 Billion Investment in Blue Point Low-Carbon Ammonia Project
Debevoise & Plimpton LLP has advised Mitsui & Co., Ltd. in its approximately U.S. $1 billion investment in a low-carbon ammonia production project at the Blue Point facility in Ascension Parish, Louisiana. Mitsui’s investment is alongside CF Industries, the world’s largest ammonia producer, and JERA, Japan’s largest power generation operator. The project involves constructing one of the world’s largest low-carbon ammonia facilities, integrating carbon capture and sequestration technologies to reduce CO2 emissions by more than 95% during production.
