DLA Piper advised Morgan Construction on CAD$200 million financing for new equipment purchases and growth
DLA Piper advised Morgan Construction and Environmental Ltd. (“Morgan Construction”), one of Canada’s leading heavy civil contractors, on securing CAD$200 million in financing from Gordon Brothers, the global asset experts, to support its working capital, new equipment purchases and growth plans.
The transaction involved an asset-backed lending deal and revolving credit arrangement. DLA Piper advised Morgan Construction on all aspects of the transaction, including structuring the financing, negotiating key terms, and documenting the arrangement to align with the company’s operational and expansion goals.
Headquartered in Edmonton, Alberta, Morgan Construction provides earthworks, environmental and demolition services, and site development solutions across Canada and into the United States, primarily servicing key energy and mining sectors. The company employs over 1,100 people and partners with more than sixteen Indigenous communities.
The DLA Piper team advising Morgan Construction was led by Ian W. Reynolds K.C. (Partner) and co-lead Jennifer Cleall, K.C.
