Freshfields Advised Ontario Teachers’ on Sale of Stake in Brussels Airport

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer is advising the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board on its agreement to sell its stake in Brussels Airport (BRU) to ParticipatieMaatschappij Vlaanderen (PMV), the Flemish public investment company.

Ontario Teachers’ first invested in Brussels Airport in 2011, and over the last 14 years, it has played a key role in shaping BRU into a national growth engine for Belgium and one of Europe’s leading transportation hubs. With a focus on enhancing the passenger experience and expanding destination reach, the airport currently contributes €8.8 billion to the Belgian economy and supports over 64,000 jobs.

The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals.
