Stephenson Harwood Advised S&P Global On The Acquisition Of TeraHelix
Stephenson Harwood advised S&P Global on the acquisition of TeraHelix
Stephenson Harwood advised S&P Global on its acquisition of TeraHelix Ltd, a financial technology company specialising in advanced data modelling, linking, and reconciliation services powered by artificial intelligence.
The acquisition enhances S&P Global’s data, technology, and AI capabilities, particularly in linking datasets across asset classes and platforms. TeraHelix’s solutions improve data interoperability and simplify integration with a variety of implementation technologies, enabling expanded access, connectivity, and actionable insights across company, security, personnel, and asset-level data.
This transaction builds on a longstanding collaboration between S&P Global and TeraHelix, whose technology has played a key role in the development of Gearbox, S&P Global’s proprietary large language model-powered data linking and matching tool.
The Stephenson Harwood team was led by Tom Platts (Partner, Corporate), with support from Helen Rhind-Hufnagel (Of Counsel), Harry Wilson and Anya Parekh (Associates). Tax aspects were advised on by Shofiq Miah (Partner), Byul McPhee (Managing Associate), and Ruth Hainsworth (Associate). Employment law matters were advised on by Richard Freedman (Partner) and Aaron Pooni (Associate), with pensions advice by Naeem Noor (Of Counsel). Intellectual Property, Tech and Data were advised on by Katie Hewson and Alexandra Pygall (Partners), supported by Alice Routh, Bobbie Bickerton, and Matthew Angell (Associates).
