Stephenson Harwood (Singapore) Alliance Advised BW LPG Limited on First JOLCO Transaction

Stephenson Harwood (Singapore) Alliance has advised BW LPG Limited on a Japanese Operating Lease with Call Option (JOLCO) financing structure.

This transaction pertains to the sale and leaseback with financing of an 83,299 cbm very large gas carrier (VLGC), BW Kyoto, in which the firm acted for BW LPG Limited as the lessee. BW LPG is the world’s leading owner and operator of LPG vessels, managing VLGCs with a total carrying capacity of over 4 million CBM. This transaction marks BW LPG’s first JOLCO deal. Bank of America, N.A. acted as the lender and Financial Partners Group Co., Ltd. served as the equity underwriter.
