Addleshaw Goddard Advised Arabian Internet and Giza Systems on Sharia-Compliant Financing led by Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank
The deal comprised Mudharaba facilities of USD 84 million and EGP 2.82 billion
Addleshaw Goddard has advised Arabian Internet and Communications Services Co. and Giza Systems on a dual-tranche Sharia-compliant financing for Giza Systems and VAS Integrated Solutions, the Egyptian-based subsidiaries.
The services were facilitated by a syndicate of financiers led by Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (Egypt).
Located in Egypt and Saudi Arabia, the transaction parties comprised Addleshaw Goddard team members from three offices in the Middle East. It demonstrated the firm’s expanding presence and enhanced capabilities in the region, including Saudi Arabia.
The cross-border team of Addleshaw Goddard was led by Riyadh partner Homam Khoshaim and Doha counsel Alan MacRitchie. They were supported by Muscat associate Liam Mehigan.
The advice on Egyptian laws was provided by Ahmed Haggag of Sharkaway & Sarhan.
