Appleby has acted as Cayman Islands legal counsel to China Everbright Greentech Limited (the ‘Company’) in relation to the registration of up to RMB 8 billion of multiple types of debt financing instruments (‘DFIs’) with the National Association of Financial Market Institutional Investors (‘NAFMII’) in the People’s Republic of China, to be traded on the China Interbank Bond Market, following issuance of RMB 1 billion green medium-term notes in 2024.
On 20 February 2025, the Company also issued its first tranche (2025) of Green medium-term notes with RMB 1 billion as principal amount. This issuance’s proceeds will be used for constructing and investing in the group’s environmental protection projects and advancing other business development initiatives, wherein Appleby has acted as Cayman Islands legal counsel.
The Hong Kong team was led by Vincent Chan, Partner of the Appleby’s Hong Kong office.
