Christopher & Lee Ong Advised on the Listing of Orkim Berhad on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia
The leading Malaysian law firm, Christopher & Lee Ong (CLO), a member firm of Rajah & Tann Asia, advised on the successful listing of Orkim Berhad on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia. Orkim is the owner-operator of 18 vessels, comprising 16 clean petroleum product tankers and 2 liquefied gas tankers, making it the largest owner and operator of clean petroleum tankers in Malaysia. Its operations support national and regional energy logistics, serving major oil companies across Malaysia with routes extending to Singapore, the Philippines, Brunei, China, and South Korea.
The IPO included an issuance of new shares by Orkim and an offer for sale by Tetap Kuasa Sdn Bhd, the investment vehicle of Ekuiti Nasional Berhad (Ekuinas). Upon listing, Orkim achieved a market capitalisation of approximately RM910 million. The proceeds raised will be utilised for vessel acquisitions and to support Orkim’s ongoing fleet expansion and modernisation programme.
