Debevoise & Plimpton Advises Roku On Acquisition Of Subscription-Based Platform Frndly TV
Debevoise & Plimpton LLP has advised leading U.S. streaming platform Roku, Inc. (NASDAQ: ROKU), on its acquisition of Frndly TV, a U.S.-based subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) service that specializes in family-friendly live TV content. The acquisition is part of Roku’s broader strategy to strengthen its content portfolio and expand its offering of affordable streaming options. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
Frndly TV, launched in 2019, offers live and on-demand content from over 40 channels, including Hallmark Channel, Lifetime, and The Weather Channel. With this move, Roku aims to further enhance user experience by integrating family-focused entertainment into its growing streaming ecosystem.
