Debevoise & Plimpton LLP Advised Easy Solar And Azimuth In Cross-Border Refinancing
Debevoise & Plimpton LLP has advised pro bono client Easy Solar (SL) Limited ("Easy Solar") and its New York parent company, Azimuth Group Corp. (“Azimuth”), on a cross-border transaction involving a refinancing of Easy Solar’s debt portfolio and a restructuring of Azimuth’s shareholder capital structure.
Easy Solar is a mission-driven energy access provider supplying solar lighting, home-power systems and appliances to underserved households and businesses in Sierra Leone and Liberia. Through accessible payment plans and mobile-money integration, the company has brought clean energy to more than 1 million people, supported more than 800 jobs, and significantly reduced dependency on fossil-fuel-based household energy. The business has received global recognition from the World Economic Forum and the Schwab Foundation for its contributions to sustainable electrification.
