DLA Piper Advised ABN AMRO on Landmark Letting at 101 Moorgate in London
DLA Piper Advised ABN AMRO on Landmark Letting at 101 Moorgate in London
DLA Piper advised ABN AMRO on its new long-term lease at 101 Moorgate, a flagship office development in the City of London.
ABN AMRO agreed to occupy the top four floors (Levels 5-8) of the newly completed building, comprising approximately 33,000 sq ft of prime office accommodation on an initial 15 year lease. The letting will establish 101 Moorgate as its new UK headquarters.
The building, delivered by Aviva Investors in joint venture with Allianz, provides more than 70,000 sq ft of modern office and retail space, boasting extensive terracing, a fully electric design, an EPC A rating and sustainability targets including NABERS 5* and BREEAM Outstanding certifications.
DLA Piper, Andrew Walker (Partner), commented “We have a deep and long-standing relationship with ABN AMRO so it has been an honour to have assisted them in securing their new UK headquarters at 101 Moorgate and their significant commitment to the heart of the City. This letting illustrates the trend that we are currently experiencing through various investment and corporate occupier mandates of the demand for high quality, amenity rich workspace in central London.”
Gerben Dragt (UK Country Executive at ABN AMRO), commented “This letting is an exciting chapter in our bank’s growth. Our new headquarters will provide an inspiring environment for colleagues and clients while also reinforcing the bank’s commitment to the UK.”
The DLA Piper team that advised on the lease was led by Andrew Walker (Partner/ Real Estate) and Lauren Turner (Legal Director).
