DLA Piper Advised Duetti On Securing US$200 Million In New Debt Financing

DLA Piper Advised Duetti On Securing US$200 Million In New Debt Financing
DLA Piper advised Duetti, a music platform focused on democratizing catalog monetization for independent artists, in securing US$200 million in new debt financing. The financing comprises a US$150 million bank facility and a US$50 million side facility, which will be used to fund acquisitions and provide catalog management and marketing services.
Since its founding in 2023, Duetti has partnered with over 700 artists across various genres in more than 30 countries, providing immediate funding to support their careers. The platform allows artists to sell music rights—whether full masters, publishing rights, or portions thereof—in deals ranging from US$10,000 to US$7 million. Additionally, Duetti’s management and marketing services have helped artists maximize distribution and audience reach across platforms, significantly increasing streams and visibility.
The DLA Piper team was led by Robert Sherman (Co-Chair, Entertainment Finance, Los Angeles) and Claire Hall (Partner, Structured Finance, Los Angeles). They were supported by Rachel Fertig (Partner, Washington, DC), Gerald Rokoff (Partner, New York), Greg Young (Of Counsel, Los Angeles), John Wei (Associate, Boston), Chaliz Taghdis (Associate, Los Angeles), and Payvand Coyle (Associate, Los Angeles).
DLA Piper’s market-leading music industry team advises on domestic and cross-border M&A, finance, investment, and corporate issues in the music sector. The firm is a leader in music rights securitizations, structured warehouse credit facilities, and bank and private credit music rights financing structures.
DLA Piper’s Asset-Backed Securities (ABS) practice brings decades of experience advising on complex securitizations across traditional and nontraditional asset classes, including music royalties, fintech small business loans, renewable energy assets, and other intellectual property rights. The firm has been at the forefront of structuring innovative financing solutions, including several first-to-market transactions in emerging asset classes.
