DLA Piper Advised Helios Investment Partners on Creation of Unique Digital Infrastructure Platform
DLA Piper Advised Helios Investment Partners on Creation of Unique Digital Infrastructure Platform
DLA Piper has advised Helios Investment Partners, a leading Africa-focused private investment firm, on the acquisition of Maroc Datacentre (MDC), Munisys and Medasys, creating 3MDC, a new digital infrastructure platform. The acquisition in collaboration with Fipar-Holding, a subsidiary of private equity firm, CDG Invest, aims to accelerate Morocco’s digital transformation and strengthen its position as a regional technology hub.
The 3MDC platform leverages MDC’s fast-growing carrier-neutral Tier-3 data centre together with Munisys’ longstanding capabilities in on-premises cloud, cybersecurity, systems integration and digital solutions. Medasys adds strong complementary technological capabilities and a deep understanding of the IT landscape in Morocco.
The financing of the transaction was provided by Saham Bank, under the leadership of Mehdi Houmam.
Camilia Benani said: "The continued investor confidence in Morocco and the strengthening of its digital infrastructure are creating a robust foundation for innovation, attracting new ventures, and accelerating the nation’s competitiveness on a global scale. We are proud to have supported Helios Investment Partners, a longstanding client, to help elevate the country's digital infrastructure and we look forward to more collaboration on this journey to further consolidate and develop Morocco's digital ecosystem"
The DLA Piper team from Casablanca office worked on the transaction led by corporate Camilia Benani (Partner) on the acquisition and Benoit De Monval (Partner) on the financing aspect of the transaction.
The team also comprised of Ghita Moussaid (Counsel), Gaëlle Bouriau (Counsel), Kenza Belrhiti Alaoui (Senior Associate) and Thomas Helman (Senior Associates) and Julie Mbakop (Associate)
