DLA Piper Advised Qatar Investment Authority On D-Matrix Strategic Investment Aimed At Data Center Expansion And Deployment
DLA Piper advised Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), one of the world’s largest sovereign wealth funds, on its investment in d-Matrix, a leader in generative AI for data centers.
QIA joined other investors in the oversubscribed US$275 million Series C funding round, bringing d-Matrix’s valuation to US$2 billion. The new capital will support the expansion and deployment of one of the world’s leading data center inference platforms.
“We are proud to support QIA in this landmark investment in d-Matrix, a company that is redefining the future of AI and data centers,” said Dr. Ehab Elsonbaty, the DLA Piper (Partner) who co-led the deal team. “As the region accelerates its pursuit of growth and innovation, DLA Piper stands ready to guide clients through complex cross-border considerations, helping them advance their strategic objectives.”
“In guiding QIA, we leveraged insight from the firm’s technology, AI, and data center practices,” said Charles Torres, (Vice Chair) of the firm’s Emerging Growth and Venture Capital practice, who co-led the deal team. “d-Matrix is now positioned to serve as a crucial facilitator for data centers, helping them operate up to ten times more efficiently, lower energy consumption, and provide scalable, cost-effective AI performance.”
