Freshfields And White & Case Facilitated Uber And Delivery Hero’s $1.25 Billion Deal
Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and White & Case are advising Uber Technologies and Delivery Hero on a $1.25 billion transaction. In this deal, Uber will acquire Foodpanda's Taiwanese operations for $900 million in cash and invest $300 million in newly issued Delivery Hero shares.
Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer is advising Uber Technologies, with the legal team led by M&A Partner John Fisher, supported by Associates Devony Schmidt and Connor Barrett.
White & Case is providing legal counsel to Delivery Hero. Their team is led by Partners Stefan Bressler, Thilo Diehl, and Ben von Maur, alongside specialists from their offices in Frankfurt, Hamburg, London, New York, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
The transaction, which is pending regulatory approval, is anticipated to close in the first half of 2025. It is set to become one of Taiwan's largest international acquisitions outside the semiconductor sector.
Delivery Hero, based in Berlin, is a leading online food ordering and delivery company with a global network of riders, restaurants, shops, and Partners. Uber Technologies, a multinational company, offers a range of services including ride-hailing, courier services, food delivery, and freight transport.
