Gowling WLG Advised Strand Hanson & Cavendish On Quantum Base Holding’s Admission To AIM

Gowling WLG Advised Strand Hanson & Cavendish On Quantum Base Holding’s Admission To AIM
Quantum Base was founded in 2013 as a spin-out from Lancaster University through which Professor Robert Young's discoveries in the field of quantum physics could be commercialised.
Gowling WLG’s capital markets team has acted for Strand Hanson (as Nomad) and Cavendish (as sole broker and bookrunner) on Quantum Base Holding plc's admission to AIM.
A quantum science company, Quantum Base, is creating a new global standard in authentication through its patented Quantum Identities (Q-ID®s) or near unbreakable and non-replicable authenticity tags which can be applied to a variety of products, lessening counterfeiting-which is estimated to cost businesses and tax authorities at least $2.8 trillion in revenue loss every year-and can be authenticated with a smartphone.
Quantum Base was founded in 2013 as a spin-out from Lancaster University through which Professor Robert Young's discoveries in the field of quantum physics could be commercialised. Traditional solutions such as holograms, taggants and security inks are often susceptible to replication and are expensive to produce.
The team advising Strand Hanson and Cavendish was led by Partner Davey Brennan with support from Director Sue Johnston, Associates Freddie Whittle and Anna Plenderleith, and trainee solicitor Arianna Lorentzos.
Davey Brennan reportedly said: "We are very pleased to have supported our long-standing clients Strand Hanson and Cavendish on this IPO. In what is still a relatively challenging market they have delivered yet another IPO in early 2025, which bodes well for AIM and our capital markets generally.
"This follows our recent ranking in the latest Corporate Advisers Rankings Guide where we're third amongst all law firms for the total number of clients quoted on the London Stock Exchange, with 84 listed clients. We are also in the top three law firms for total AIM clients, and top five for the Main Market. The team and I are proud of these rankings, and we look forward to continuing to build upon them,” Brennan reportedly said.
Chris Raggett, Corporate Finance Director at Strand, reportedly said: "We were very pleased to work with Gowling WLG on this, our sixth IPO/RTO in the last six months. Davey and his team were incredibly supportive throughout and provided their usual excellent service. We are grateful for their timely and measured advice and look forward to working with them again."
Recognized as one of the leading practices in London, Gowling WLG's capital markets team has a particular emphasis on AIM and investment funds. It is ranked third among law firms in terms of the total number of clients quoted on the London Stock Exchange; is in the top three for total AIM clients; and in the top five for the main market.
