Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer Advised Morrison on Acquisition of SuperFreeze Singapore
Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer Advised Morrison on Acquisition of SuperFreeze Singapore
Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer has advised Morrison, a global infrastructure investment firm, on its acquisition of SuperFreeze Singapore, a cold chain logistics provider serving the food and pharmaceutical sectors, to establish its new APAC cold chain platform, Polaris.
Singapore based, Malika Chandrasegaran (Corporate Partner and Head of M&A) said, “We are delighted to support Morrison on the launch of Polaris and the acquisition of SuperFreeze Singapore, to create a scalable platform to meet growing demand for modern cold chain infrastructure across Asia Pacific."
Morrison has over US$30 billion in assets under management. In Singapore, strong reliance on imported food combined with its role as a major transhipment hub, continues to drive robust demand for energy-efficient cold storage capacity amid a persistent shortage of high-specification facilities. The deal includes SuperFreeze Tuas, a fully operational highly automated cold storage facility that will serve as a cornerstone asset for Polaris.
"This transaction highlights the increasing role of private capital in developing next-generation logistics assets that are critical to food security, pharmaceutical supply and broader supply chain resilience in the region," added Malika.
The Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer team was led by Malika (Partner/ Head/ M&A, Asia) and Yashvini Janakan (Of Counsel) led the deal team supported by Peiwen Chen (Partner/ Co-Head/ Private Capital, Asia), Zhang Jie Thia (Associate) and Charles Cunningham (Trainee Solicitor).
