HEUKING Advised LUMO Labs On Investment In Munich-Based AI MedTech Start-Up hema.to In Seed Extension Financing Round

HEUKING Advised LUMO Labs On Investment In Munich-Based AI MedTech Start-Up hema.to In Seed Extension Financing Round
HEUKING advised LUMO Labs BV, a Dutch venture capital investor, on its lead investment in the seed extension financing round of Munich-headquartered deeptech AI and MedTech start-up hema.to GmbH. The round also saw participation from BayernKapital, HTGF, and Elaia Capital, securing a total investment of EUR 3.6 million.
hema.to is a clinical-grade software platform powered by artificial intelligence, designed to transform cytometry and immune medicine through early and accurate diagnosis of blood cancers and immune diseases. The platform’s capabilities are aimed at enabling personalized treatment pathways by uncovering critical diagnostic data from complex blood samples—streamlining workflows for clinical labs while improving patient outcomes.
The newly raised funds will be used to further refine the product-market fit in blood cancer diagnostics, secure additional European certifications, support clinical studies, expand into broader immune disorder diagnostics, and scale commercial deployment across markets.
Karsten Miermans, CEO and Co-founder of hema.to, commented, “Through the AI models on our platform, we pull hidden data to the surface to get every patient an accurate diagnosis and treatment as early as possible. This is how we save lives.”
Sven Bakkes, Founding Partner of LUMO Labs, added, “hema.to’s AI-powered platform can analyze raw cytometry files in seconds—far faster and more accurately than human analysts—offering life-saving early intervention capabilities.”
HEUKING’s legal advisory to the lead investor LUMO Labs was led by Dr. Patrick Müller (Partner, Venture Capital, Düsseldorf) and Roman Ettl-Steger (Partner, Venture Capital, Munich).
