Hogan Lovells advised Calibre Scientific's first Latin American acquisition
The multinational law firm Hogan Lovells has advised Calibre Scientific, a provider of life science reagents and equipment, in its acquisition of Carvalhaes, a Brazilian distributor of laboratory consumables and scientific equipment.
The acquisition closed on December 20, 2022, and expands the Los-Angeles-based Calibre Scientific's global distribution platform by adding one of the largest independent distributors of laboratory consumables and equipment in Brazil to its portfolio.
This is the first Latin American acquisition of the firm with a portfolio of life sciences tools and diagnostics companies, across various key verticals. With this acquisition Calibre Scientific's global reach now extends into over 100 countries.
The Hogan Lovells team was led by São Paulo Office Managing Partner Isabel Costa Carvalho and associates Felipe Lacerda, Ana Laura Pongeluppi, and Lizandra Baptista (all São Paulo).
