Khoshaim & Associates Advised Gulf Union Al Ahlia Cooperative Insurance On Merger With Gulf General Cooperative Insurance
Khoshaim & Associates (K&A) advised Gulf Union Al Ahlia Cooperative Insurance Co. (GUAI) on its merger agreement with Gulf General Cooperative Insurance Co. (GGI), along with GUAI’s firm intention to make an offer in this respect. Both GUAI and GGI are licensed, publicly listed insurance companies in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The merger, which aims to strengthen GUAI’s market position and enhance the overall insurance sector in Saudi Arabia, is the first public merger of 2024. It is currently subject to regulatory and shareholder approvals. This significant deal is poised to reshape the landscape of the Saudi insurance industry, marking a new chapter in the sector's evolution.
K&A’s team, led by Managing Partner Zeyad Khoshaim and Senior Associate Ghaida Meaigel, provided expert guidance throughout the negotiation and structuring of the merger agreement. The team was further supported by Associate Khaled Alhudaithy and a group of market-leading associates. Their combined efforts ensured the smooth progression of the transaction, positioning GUAI for future success in the Saudi market.
