Linklaters Advised DigitalBridge on the Sale of Digita Group to GI Partners
Linklaters Advised DigitalBridge on the Sale of Digita Group to GI Partners
Linklaters has advised DigitalBridge, a leading global alternative asset manager dedicated to investing in digital infrastructure, on the sale of Digita Group to the private investment firm, GI Partners.
Digita Group is one of the largest independent, diversified tower companies in the Nordics and has nationwide tower portfolios across both Finland and Iceland (Digital Oy in Finland and ÍslandsTurnar in Iceland).
Since 2018, Digita Group has been owned by funds managed by an affiliate of DigitalBridge. Under DigitalBridge’s ownership, Digita Group evolved into a scaled, diversified tower and broadcast infrastructure platform, expanding from approximately 200 tower sites to more than 950, while accelerating growth in its Data Centre and Internet of Things platforms. Digita Group will continue to operate as an independent company within GI Partners’ portfolio, leveraging GI Partners’ support, expertise, and experience.
This builds on Linklaters’ longstanding relationship with DigitalBridge and the firm’s involvement in some of the digital infrastructure sector’s biggest deals in recent years, including DigitalBridge’s acquisition of Yondr Group, and the completion of a US$9.2bn equity investment in Vantage Data Centers across EMEA and North America, led by DigitalBridge and Silver Lake in 2024.
The cross-practice Linklaters team was led by Daniel Law (Corporate Partner) and David Martin (Corporate Partner), Jamie Coomber (Tax Partner) and Ross Schloeffel (Energy and Infrastructure Partner).
They were supported by Carol Sin (Corporate Managing Associate) and Nafeesa Bukhari (Corporate Associate).
