Matouk Bassiouny & Hennawy Advised Tamweely Financial Services On EGP 1.155 Billion Securitization Transaction
Matouk Bassiouny & Hennawy Advised Tamweely Financial Services on EGP 1.155 Billion Securitization Transaction
The leading full-service MENA (Middle East and North Africa) law firm, Matouk Bassiouny & Hennawy (MBH) acted as legal counsel to Tamweely Financial Services in connection with a EGP 1,155,000,000 securitization transaction.
The securitized portfolio comprised microfinance contracts and represents the second issuance of AlAhly’s fifth securitization program, with an aggregate value of EGP 5,000,000,000. This transaction reinforces Tamweely Financial Services’ efforts to enhance liquidity and support the growth of the microfinance sector in Egypt.
Al Ahly Pharos – الأهلي فاروس acted as financial advisor, Baker Tilly as auditor, Al Ahly for Securitization as the securitization company, and Middle East Rating & Investors Service (MERIS) as the rating agency.
This landmark transaction highlights MBH’s commitment to fostering innovation in the financial sector and supporting the continued growth of Egypt’s microfinance industry.
The MBH team was led by Mohamed Abdel Fattah (Partner and Head of Capital Markets) and Imane Raouf (Partner), and included Abdelrheem Ashraf (Senior Associate), Mariam G. (Associate), and Ahmed Ayman (Associate).
Matouk Bassiouny & Hennawy is a leading full-service MENA (Middle East and North Africa) law firm, not a global one. It has offices in Egypt, the UAE, Sudan, and Algeria, along with a New York satellite office and country desks for Libya and South Korea, and frequently collaborates with international firms to serve its multinational clients.
