Norton Rose Fulbright Advised Eurazeo Infrastructure Partners On Its Investment In Battery Storage Developer Terralayr
Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised Eurazeo Infrastructure Partners (EIP) on an investment in battery storage developer terralayr AG. Together with the existing investors, EIP will provide growth capital to terralayr of up to EUR 192 million to enable the further expansion of its portfolio of battery storage systems across the DACH region.
Eurazeo Infrastructure Partners is part of Eurazeo, a leading global investment group with €37.4bn in diversified assets under management, including €28bn on behalf of institutional clients through its private equity, private debt, real estate, and infrastructure strategies. Eurazeo Infrastructure invests in energy transition assets that contribute to a low-carbon economy while offering predictable, secure cash flows over the long term.
Dr Klaus Bader (Partner), the Head of Energy Europe at NRF said,
“With the ongoing expansion of renewable energy, demand is increasing for flexible and readily available capacity to ensure grid stability and to efficiently balance generation peaks. Modern BESS solutions fulfil exactly this role and are becoming one of the key components of our future energy system. Eurazeo’s investment in terralayr sends another strong signal of the importance of BESS capacity in the Germany energy transition. We appreciate to have had the chance to support the EIP team on this strategic transaction and to have contributed to the expansion of modern BESS infrastructure in the DACH region.”
The Norton Rose Fulbright team was led by Dr Klaus Bader (Partner), Dr Wenzel Richter (Partner), comprised Claudia Posluschny (Head of Munich), Veit Sahlfeld (Partner), Dr Simon Weppner (Partner), Dr Tim Schaper (Head of Antitrust), Dr Valerian von Richthofen (Partner), and Sebastian Eisenhut (Senior Associates), and Dr Tobias Teichner (Associate), Dr Markus Beil (Associate), Hannah Dieterich (Associate), Philipp Fricke (Associate), Roman Kalitsev (Associate), Jakob Kramer (Associate), and Dr Jan Vogelsang (Associate).
A team led by Ramona Wyss (Partner), of Walder Wyss Ltd. in Zurich supported EIP and the Norton Rose Fulbright team on the Swiss aspects of the transaction.
