Osborne Clarke Advised ITV on its Media for Equity Investment into The Body Coach App
Osborne Clarke Advised ITV on its Media for Equity Investment into The Body Coach App
International legal practice Osborne Clarke has advised ITV AdVentures Invest on its Media for Equity investment of up to £3 million into The Body Coach fitness app, founded by Joe Wicks, in return for advertising inventory across its linear channels and the ITVX streaming service.
The Body Coach app is an award-winning all-in-one fitness and nutrition platform, featuring home workouts and personalised meal planning.
This transaction continues Osborne Clarke's established relationship with ITV, having advised on several of its Media for Equity investments over the past year.
"I’m delighted to be announcing our partnership with Joe Wicks and investment into The Body Coach. It’s an exciting opportunity for ITV to support a purpose-driven brand transforming people’s approach to fitness and wellbeing. We couldn’t be launching the campaign at a better time - the new year has always represented a natural reset for people to make positive changes and with Joe’s show airing on ITV1 on New Year’s Day, I’m sure viewers will come away feeling even more energised and motivated to kick-start their health and fitness journey. I'd also like to express my thanks to Ken, Mary, Sophie and the rest of the Osborne Clarke team for their invaluable support in helping us get this investment over the line." Sheena Amin, Director of ITV AdVentures
"Supporting ITV on this further Media for Equity investment demonstrates the continuing essential nature of broadcast reach for D2C business. This innovative investment, combined with the associated campaign launch in the new year, is a fantastic example of how platforms and consumer-facing businesses can leverage mutually beneficial outcomes (and hopefully for the nation's health too)." Ken Wilkinson, Partner, Osborne Clarke
Osborne Clarke's Corporate team is a go-to practice for many companies in the tech, media and comms sectors and in relation to venture capital and related investments, working with global businesses to fast-growth start-ups and market challengers. It is widely recognised for its corporate expertise in these dynamic markets, and its track record advised on corporate issues, from equity and debt fundraisings to M&A, IPOs and JVs across Europe, North America and globally.
The Osborne Clarke team included Ken Wilkinson (Partner), Mary Hughes (Senior Associate) and Sophie Mullarkey (Associate).
