Osborne Clarke Advised SLNG On US$3.9 Million Pre-Seed Funding
Osborne Clarke Advised SLNG On US$3.9 Million Pre-Seed Funding
International legal practice Osborne Clarke has advised AI speech infrastructure startup SLNG on its US$3.9 million pre-seed funding round.
Based in Barcelona, SLNG was founded this year by Ismael Ordaz and Luke Miller (who was previously at npm and Vercel). SLNG aims to challenge the US-centric technology ecosystem and build the first truly global platform for voice AI.
While traditional platforms prioritise languages such as English, Spanish and French and often lock developers into inflexible single provider ecosystems, SLNG’s open ecosystem approach lets developers combine open-source and proprietary models without vendor lock-in, while developer-first design delivers SDKs and APIs built for rapid integration.
The round, led by leading European investment fund, Earlybird VC, will accelerate SLNG’s plan to provide developers, startups, and enterprises with a unified platform that integrates multiple speech models, supports true global deployment with regional compliance, and eliminates the barriers that have kept voice technology concentrated in a handful of languages and markets.
“We were delighted to support SLNG in its successful pre-seed fundraising, which will accelerate its mission to ‘unmute the world’ by creating a genuinely global voice ecosystem. SLNG’s audacious, developer-first approach positions it as an innovative first mover in this exciting space.”
Mathias Loertscher, (Partner), UK
“Mathias, Uday and the entire OC team were enormously helpful, guiding us through a rapid and complex process with clarity and confidence. Their deep understanding of our technology space, ability to move at the velocity we required, and broader market knowledge made all the difference. Beyond just providing legal advice, they are true partners—supportive, pragmatic, and instrumental in helping us achieve a successful outcome.”
Luke Miller, Founder of SLNG
The Osborne Clarke team was led by Mathias Loertscher (Partner), and Uday Mehra (Senior Associate), with the support of Andrew Blyth (Associate), Spanish Enric Girona (Partner), and Silvia Miralles (Associate), and Spanish Employment Eva Otaegui (Partner), and Anna Iborra (Counsel).
