Pinsent Masons advised HomeServe on two acquisitions and German market entry
Pinsent Masons, a multinational law firm, provided legal counsel to HomeServe in two acquisitions of heating, plumbing, and air conditioning businesses in Germany.
The UK-based emergency repair and home improvement company acquired two German firms, Barella Gebäude-und Energietechnik GmbH, and Egly Kälte-Klimatechnik GmbH, with legal advice from the firm. Additionally, Pinsent Masons assisted HomeServe in various matters relating to its entry into the German market, such as insurance, data protection, and competition.
The Pinsent Masons team advising HomeServe on the acquisitions was led by corporate partner Ronald Meissner and senior associate Dr. Sandra Schuh. Advice related to commercial aspects of the launch into the German market was led by corporate partner Dr. Sönke Gödeke and legal director Dr. Peter Roesgen.
"We are proud to have been instructed by HomeServe to advise on a number of transactions which have paved the way for the business to realise its expansion plans in Germany. We look forward to continuing to support the business as it drives forward its strategy in Europe," Ronald Meissner, M&A expert and partner at Pinsent Masons, said on the transaction.
"This type of multi-disciplinary project demonstrates the value of the firm's multinational strategy which enabled us to leverage expertise in both Germany and the UK," Meissner added.
HomeServe, with over 9,000 employees and a turnover of more than £1,429.3 million, is a provider of home services and repairs. The company specialises in emergency plumbing, heating, electrical support, and repairs.
HomeServe's customer base is spread across the United Kingdom, the United States of America, France, and Spain, with the largest customer base in the United Kingdom and the United States.
