Rajah & Tann Singapore and Rajah & Tann LCT Lawyers advised Vietnam Waste Solutions on settlement of Da Phuoc Waste Treatment Project dispute
The leading regional law firm, Rajah & Tann Singapore and Rajah & Tann LCT Lawyers advised Vietnam Waste Solutions Co., Ltd. (“VWS”), a U.S. investor, on the successful resolution of a cross-border dispute with the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee arising from contractual arrangements relating to the Da Phuoc Waste Treatment Project in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
On 9 February 2026, the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee and VWS executed a Settlement Agreement that brought to a close their long-running differences concerning the waste treatment project. The matter had initially been commenced before the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) but was ultimately resolved through mediation at the Vietnam Mediation Center, where the parties reached an amicable settlement.
The Rajah & Tann team advised VWS throughout the proceedings and negotiations, supporting the client in achieving a constructive resolution with the relevant Vietnamese authorities.
The Rajah & Tann Singapore team was led by Sim Chee Siong (Partner), Xian Fong Foo (Partner) and Matthew Koh (Partner). The Rajah & Tann LCT Lawyers team was led by Dr Chau Huy Quang (Managing Partner), with support from Logan Leung (Deputy Managing Partner) and Khoa Quach (Senior Counsel).
