Asafo & Co. Advised COIC On Majority Stake Acquisition In Uniwax
Asafo & Co. Advised COIC on Majority Stake Acquisition in Uniwax
The international law firm primarily dedicated to Africa-related legal matters, Asafo & Co., advised Compagnie Ivoirienne de Coton (COIC) on its acquisition of a majority stake in Uniwax from Dutch textile group Vlisco. Uniwax, founded in 1968 and listed on the Bourse Régionale des Valeurs Mobilières (BRVM), is renowned for its iconic African wax print fabrics and operates a major production facility in Côte d’Ivoire.
The transaction, subject to regulatory approvals, positions COIC to capture greater value across the textile value chain while supporting Uniwax’s continued growth and expansion. The deal underscores Asafo & Co.’s commitment to transformative transactions that strengthen Africa’s industrial capacity and promote local value creation.
The Asafo & Co. team was led by Patrick Larrivé (Partner), supported by Thami El Idrissi (Senior Associate) and Mady Thiam (Associate).
Asafo & Co. is a specialized international law firm primarily dedicated to Africa-related legal matters. Unlike traditional global firms with a general focus, Asafo & Co. positions itself as an "integrated" offering that combines international standards with deep local expertise across the African continent.
