Sidley Advised Fortitude Re On US$4 Billion Reinsurance Transaction With Taiyo Life
Sidley Austin LLP advised Fortitude International Reinsurance Company Ltd., a subsidiary of Fortitude Re, on a US$4 billion reinsurance transaction with Taiyo Life Insurance Company.
Under this landmark transaction, Taiyo Life has reinsured a significant portion of its whole life annuity portfolio to Fortitude Re. This marks Fortitude Re’s second reinsurance transaction with Taiyo Life and its sixth transaction in Japan, reinforcing the company’s growing presence and expertise in the Asian insurance market.
