Skrine advised Vena Nexus on development of MYR 20 billion green data centre campus in Malaysia
The Malaysian leading full-service law firm, Skrine acted for Vena Nexus, part of the Vena Group under Blackrock-backed Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), in relation to the development of a large-scale green data centre campus at the NS Semiconductor Valley (NSSV) Industrial Park in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia.
Vena Nexus is a leading renewable energy and digital infrastructure developer and operator in the Asia Pacific region. The project involves the development of a state-of-the-art hyperscale and AI-ready data centre campus spanning approximately 157 acres, with an intended target IT load of around 350 megawatts.
The data centre campus is designed to provide significant capacity to global cloud service providers and enterprises across the Asia Pacific region. The project is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2027, with long-term capital investment estimated at MYR 20 billion.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the project was officiated by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun on 26 January 2026, marking a key milestone in the development.
