Stephenson Harwood Advised Almaviva Santé Group On Distressed Acquisition Of Sainte-Marguerite Clinic

Stephenson Harwood Advised Almaviva Santé Group on Distressed Acquisition of Sainte-Marguerite Clinic
Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has advised the Almaviva Santé group on its acquisition of the Sainte-Marguerite clinic, a private hospital located in Hyères on the French Riviera. The transaction was approved by the Commercial Court of Toulon as part of French judicial receivership proceedings.
With this acquisition, Almaviva Santé — which generated consolidated revenues of €618.7 million in 2024 and employs 5,500 people — has prevented the definitive closure of the Sainte-Marguerite clinic, preserving up to 160 jobs. The group also secured significant real estate by purchasing the freehold of a key clinic serving the Hyères area.
"We were pleased to be able to help our clients achieve a successful outcome in this complex matter," said Alexandre Koenig (Partner), Stephenson Harwood. "By leveraging our expertise across Restructuring & Insolvency, Employment, Corporate, Real Estate, and Competition, we were able to provide the comprehensive and holistic advice needed to complete a transaction of this type."
The Stephenson Harwood team was led by Alexandre Koenig (Restructuring & Insolvency Partner), supported by Lauriane Chauvet (Associate) and Martin Cormont (Associate). Additional advice was provided by Isabelle Dauzet (Employment Partner) and Victor Dehan (Managing Associate); Guillaume Briant (Corporate Partner) and Ali Hilass (Managing Associate); Gaëtan Rogeau (Real Estate Partner); Jean-Julien Lemonnier (Competition Partner) and Laetitia Ghebali (Of Counsel); and Elise Dufour (IP Tech & Data Partner).
