Stephenson Harwood advised Riverchain International Limited on its US$1.2 Million Seed and US$5 Million Series A funding rounds
Stephenson Harwood advised Riverchain International Limited on its US$1.2 Million Seed and US$5 Million Series A funding rounds
Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has advised River chain International Limited on its US$1.2 million seed investment round and subsequent US$5 million Series A funding round.
The seed investment round involved participation from the Republic Asia Ecosystem Fund earlier this year. The subsequent Series A funding round was led by Betatron Venture Group, a venture capital fund supporting early-stage B2B tech startups innovating in Asia’s largest industries.
On completion of these funding rounds, River chain will be well positioned to help bridge the liquidity gap for subcontractors across Hong Kong and Southeast Asia.
River chain is a Hong Kong-based fintech company which pioneers working capital solutions for the construction industry. The funding will support the company’s expansion across Hong Kong and Southeast Asia and its continued investment in its origination and distribution technology capabilities. Since January 2024, River chain has deployed over US$100 million in capital, supporting 115 public and private projects in Hong Kong — from large scale infrastructure initiatives including the Northern Metropolis in Hong Kong to landmark developments such as the iconic Kai Tak Sports Park.
These transactions highlight the firm’s deep expertise in cross-border venture capital financings, and the technology and financial services sectors.
The Stephenson Harwood LLP team was led by Danny Kan (Partner), and Michael Mok (Associate), Angela Ng (Associate), and Carol Mao (Associate).
