Stephenson Harwood LLP has Advised Hellenic Dry Bulk Ventures on the Sales of Vessels to Bangladesh Shipping Corporation
Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has advised Hellenic Dry Bulk Ventures LLC on the sales of two bulk carrier vessels to Bangladesh Shipping Corporation (BSC).
Hellenic Dry Bulk Ventures LLC is a US-based shipping company. Established in 1972, BSC is Bangladesh’s state-owned shipping corporation and is central to Bangladesh’s maritime trade, handling key bulk operations for the country’s imports and exports.
This high value, complex and cross-border marks a strategic milestone for BSC and each vessel, with a capacity of 63,500 deadweight tonnes, will enhance BSC’s fleet and support its ongoing expansion in the global shipping industry.
Ian Mace, Global Head of Maritime, Trade and Offshore Finance at Stephenson Harwood, said, “It has been a pleasure to advise on this important transaction, which highlights our team’s expertise in delivering sophisticated solutions for complex, cross-border matters. This is a significant step forward for BSC in their strategic fleet expansion and sustainable financial practices.”
Delivery of the first vessel was completed in October 2025, with delivery of the second vessel completed in January with a closing meeting held at Stephenson Harwood’s London office with members of Bangladesh Shipping Corporation in attendance.
The Stephenson Harwood team was led by Ian Mace (Partner) advised on the transaction, supported by Maritime, Hannah Marriott (Associate/ Trade and Offshore) and Kelly Anastasiadou (Associate/ Trade and Offshore).
