Taylor Wessing advised Balderton Capital on €180 million financing round of Quantum Systems
Taylor Wessing advised Balderton Capital on €180 million financing round of Quantum Systems
Taylor Wessing advised Balderton Capital on its lead investment in a €180 million Series C Extension financing of Quantum Systems, a leading provider of AI-powered aerial surveillance systems. This financing follows Quantum Systems’ €160 million Series C in May 2025, bringing the total capital raised in 2025 to €340 million and tripling the company’s valuation to over €3 billion. The transaction marks the largest private capital raise in Europe’s dual-use sector and positions Quantum Systems as Europe’s first dual-use unicorn.
Headquartered in Gilching near Munich, Quantum Systems employs nearly 1,000 people and develops reconnaissance and surveillance drones for military and civilian applications. The company will utilize the new capital to expand AI, software, and hardware development for intelligent unmanned systems, pursue strategic acquisitions, and scale mass-production capabilities across Germany and Europe.
The Taylor Wessing team advising Balderton Capital was led by Dr Norman Röchert (Partner, Berlin), supported by Dr Anna Hankings-Evans (Senior Associate, Berlin), Felix Paul (Professional Support Lawyer, Berlin), Jasmin Bechtold (Associate, Berlin), and Johannes Philipp Tapken (Associate, Munich).
