Dentons LuatViet Enhances Energy-Sector M&A Proficiency With EPLegal Merger
Dentons LuatViet, the Vietnamese member firm of Dentons, has strengthened its energy-sector M&A capabilities by integrating local corporate boutique EPLegal, along with its Founder Tony Nguyen and Managing Partner Annie Ngo.
EPLegal brings expertise in the energy and infrastructure sectors, with specializations in cross-border investment, shipping and aviation, project financing, and dispute resolution across various industries. The firm has offices in both Vietnam and the UK.
EPLegal's client roster includes prominent energy companies such as BW Offshore, EMAS, Fred Olsen Production, and PTSC, as well as significant capital funds and investment firms like VinaCapital, GEMADEPT, and leading financial institutions including Vietinbank, Citibank, PVFC, and ICICI Bank.
Nguyen will lead the combined firm’s international arbitration practice, bringing his specialization in energy, finance and banking, construction and project development, shipping and aviation, and dispute resolution. His extensive experience with oil and gas sector clients covers energy and infrastructure construction contracts and related disputes, including projects involving hydropower plants, thermal power plants, refineries, and solar energy installations.
Ngo will head Dentons LuatViet’s energy practice. She possesses over two decades of experience in energy, corporate investment, construction project development, dispute resolution, and finance and banking. She has advised both domestic and international investors and businesses on legal matters related to large-scale oil and gas industry projects and renewable energy in Vietnam.
Dentons LuatViet, which emerged from Dentons' combination with LuatViet in 2022, now boasts eight Partners across its Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi offices.
Recently, Dentons also expanded its capabilities in the Philippines through a combination with PJS Law.
