Andrew Cheng Rejoins Gibson Dunn as Partner in Business Restructuring and Special Situations Practices
Gibson Dunn announced that Andrew W. Cheng has rejoined the firm’s Los Angeles office as a partner in its Business Restructuring and Reorganization Practice Group and the Liability Management and Special Situations Practice Group.
Cheng is a versatile finance lawyer with significant experience in rescue and distressed financing transactions. His return comes amid increased demand for restructuring and distressed finance services globally.
Scott J. Greenberg (Global Chair, Business Restructuring and Reorganization Practice Group), said,
“We are excited to welcome Andrew back to our team, Andrew’s experience in distressed finance will deepen our bench and support clients in a dynamic credit environment.”
Andrew Cheng, said,
“I’m thrilled to come home to Gibson Dunn,The transformation of the restructuring practice into a global powerhouse has been impressive, and I look forward to contributing to the firm’s continued growth.”
Steven Domanowski (Chair, Liability Management and Special Situations Practice Group) said, “Andrew intimately understands the evolving needs of our clients in distressed finance and will be an invaluable resource.”
Cheng is the latest addition to Gibson Dunn’s expanding global restructuring platform. In recent months, the firm welcomed partners Chris Howard and Presley Warner in London, Lisa Stevens (London), AnnElyse Scarlett Gains (Washington, D.C.), Caith Kushner and Ryan Kim (New York), and elevated Stephen D. Silverman (New York) and Melissa L. Barshop (Century City) to partnership.
