Appleby Appoints Bethany Yan As Paralegal In Investment Funds Practice At Hong Kong Office
Appleby Appoints Bethany Yan As Paralegal In Investment Funds Practice At Hong Kong Office
Appleby has announced the appointment of Bethany Yan as a Paralegal in its Investment Funds practice at the Hong Kong office, with effect from March 2025. The move comes after the recent addition of Freya Xu as counsel, marking expansion of Appleby’s investment funds capabilities in Asia.
Yan’s track record covers investment funds and legal entity set-up, with specialisation in portfolio management and regulatory compliance. She has overseen the management of more than 140 investment fund entities across 11 jurisdictions, demonstrating her skill in audit reviews and company secretarial functions.
Earlier, Yan served as a paralegal in various offshore and onshore law firms where she supported leveraged finance transactions, regulatory compliance, and fund formation. She is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin and well-equipped to serve the firm’s diverse clientele in the region.
“We are thrilled to welcome Bethany to our Investment Funds team,” Hong Kong and Mainland China Managing Partner David Bulley reportedly said. “Her extensive experience and multilingual capabilities will greatly enhance our ability to support fund managers and corporate clients across Asia.”
The Hong Kong office of Appleby continues to buttress its Corporate and Dispute Resolution practices, reinforcing its position as a leader in providing comprehensive legal services in the investment funds sector.
