Baker McKenzie Welcomes Back Donna McComber As Principal Economist In Washington, DC
Baker McKenzie welcomes back Donna McComber as Principal Economist in Washington, DC
Baker McKenzie has announced the return of Donna McComber as a Principal Economist in its Washington, DC office. A seasoned transfer pricing advisor with more than 25 years of international tax experience, Donna rejoins the global law firm following her tenure at a Big Four accounting firm.
Donna previously served for over 15 years at the US Internal Revenue Service (IRS), including as Assistant Director within the Advance Pricing and Mutual Agreement (APMA) Program, where she negotiated Advance Pricing Agreements (APAs) and mutual agreement procedure (MAP) cases with numerous US treaty partners. Her private and public sector experience spans work with multinational corporations across industries including financial services, automotive, technology, consumer, pharma, medical device, and retail.
Salim Rahim, Chair of Baker McKenzie's North America Tax Practice Group, said,
"The international tax landscape has evolved considerably over the last few years as governments around the world focus on increasing tax revenue, and the result has been a sharp rise in double tax disputes. Donna’s government experience, especially her work negotiating APAs with US treaty partners, will be a tremendous asset to our clients who are looking to obtain certainty."
Baker McKenzie's Tax Practice, with over 730 practitioners across 40+ countries, is globally recognized for its collaborative and cross-border solutions. The practice works closely with the firm’s M&A Practice, offering advisory services on domestic and international tax issues, pre-disposition restructurings, and post-acquisition integrations.
Maurice Bellan, Managing Partner of Baker McKenzie’s Washington, DC office, commented,
"Donna is a seasoned transfer pricing advisor, who is well known throughout the tax community for her elite technical skills. More importantly, she has always been a highly valued member of the Baker team and we are delighted to have her back."
Donna McComber said,
"Baker has an unmatched international Tax Practice, which works on some of the most interesting and complex transfer pricing issues in the world today. I am thrilled to return to the collaborative and collegial work environment at Baker, which feels like home."
Bobby Moore, Tax Partner, said,
Welcome back Donna McComber! So good to have you on our team again.
Donna holds a BA in Economics from the University of Mary Washington and an MA in Economics from Vanderbilt University.
