Bird & Bird Adds Mårten Lindberg As Partner In Stockholm To Lead Tech Transactions And Digital Rights Practice
Bird & Bird has further strengthened its Commercial practice in Sweden with the appointment of Mårten Lindberg as a Partner in the Stockholm office. Lindberg will lead the firm’s Technology Transactions and Digital Rights & Assets practices in Sweden.
A seasoned media and IT law specialist, Mårten Lindberg brings extensive experience advising clients in the Media, Entertainment & Sports and Technology & Communications sectors. His expertise spans media and commercial law, transactional IP, marketing law, and privacy and data regulation, catering to clients such as SaaS providers, publishers, music businesses, digital advertisers, and interactive entertainment companies.
Prior to this, Mårten co-founded the Stockholm office of Lindahl, one of Sweden’s leading business law firms, in 2020. He also served as in-house counsel at Spotify, advising on product and advertising issues during his tenure with the global music streaming platform.
His appointment marks the third lateral partner hire in Stockholm this year, following the additions of Wendela Hårdemark (Patent Litigation) and Henrik Nobel (M&A and Private Equity).
Mårten Willamo and Martin Folke, Co-Heads of Bird & Bird’s Sweden office, said,
“Mårten's arrival is an important piece of the Stockholm office’s growth strategy, strengthening our commercial expertise in the Media, Entertainment & Sport sector as well as in Tech & Comms. His proven track record advising clients across a range of industries will be a great asset to clients needing support on their commercial matters, and we’re delighted to welcome him to our growing team.”
Andy Danson, Head of Bird & Bird’s International Media, Entertainment & Sports Group, said,
“Mårten’s background as in-house counsel at several large international media companies, along with his tenure at prominent law firms, equips him with a unique blend of legal and industry-specific expertise. His addition to our team not only benefits the Commercial Group, but also builds on our already strong offering in media and technology, reinforcing our position as a key player in those areas in line with our long-term strategic vision.”
Commenting on his appointment, Mårten Lindberg said,
“Bird & Bird's strong position and stellar reputation in the media and technology sectors, along with its unique focus on commercial practice and extensive international reach, offers a platform exceptionally well-suited to supporting my clients in their complex, cross-border commercial matters. I very much look forward to working with colleagues across all of Bird & Bird.”
