Brooke Poole Clark Joins Morgan Lewis As Partner In Energy And Nuclear Practice
Brooke Poole Clark Joins Morgan Lewis as Partner in Energy and Nuclear Practice
The leading Global Law Firm Morgan Lewis is pleased to announce that Brooke Poole Clark, former General Counsel of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), has joined the firm’s Energy and Project Development practice as a partner, resident in Washington, DC. With nearly three decades of experience in nuclear energy law and federal regulatory strategy, Clark brings deep insight and expertise to the firm’s Chambers Band 1-ranked nuclear practice.
Clark’s distinguished career at the NRC spans nearly 25 years, including service as General Counsel, Secretary, Director of the Commission’s Adjudication Office, and Legal Counsel to former NRC Chairs Nils Diaz and Dale Klein. She also served for over eight years as Director of the Office of Commission Appellate Adjudication, advising on more than 175 adjudicatory decisions and guiding the Commission through mandatory hearings on reactor license and medical radioisotope facility applications. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Clark played a pivotal role on the NRC’s task force, helping the agency navigate unprecedented operational challenges.
At Morgan Lewis, Clark will leverage her extensive knowledge of NRC processes to advise clients on regulatory compliance, strategic risk management, and administrative law matters. She will support companies pursuing opportunities in nuclear energy, data centers, and other transformative infrastructure projects
Jami McKeon, Firm Chair, said, “As the nuclear sector regains global momentum, we’re enhancing our capabilities to meet the moment. Brooke’s command of NRC processes, depth of experience, and ability to navigate regulatory complexity will be critical assets for our clients.”
Elizabeth Hanigan, Leader of the firm’s Energy and Project Development practice, added, “Brooke’s arrival strengthens a practice that is distinctive among firms of our size, enhancing how we partner with clients on complex regulatory and transactional matters, especially as the sector enters a new phase of innovation and investment.”
Clark’s appointment follows Morgan Lewis’ recent strategic hires of senior former government officials, including Rob Schwartz, Brandon Figg, Loyaan Egal, Alice S. Hrdy, Joshua M. Goodman, and Carolyn Welshhans.
