Christopher & Lee Ong Merges With Sanjay Mohan Advocates & Solicitors To Strengthen Malaysia Operations
Christopher & Lee Ong Merges with Sanjay Mohan Advocates & Solicitors to Strengthen Malaysia Operations
Christopher & Lee Ong (CLO), a member of Rajah & Tann Asia, is set to merge with Sanjay Mohan Advocates & Solicitors to enhance its advisory, transactional, and contentious mandates in Malaysia and across the region.
The merger, effective 1 January 2026, will see Sanjay Mohanasundram, managing partner of Sanjay Mohan Advocates & Solicitors, become head of disputes at CLO. He will bring a team of 28 lawyers, including seven partners and one consultant, following the dissolution of Sanjay Mohan Advocates & Solicitors on the same date.
Kuok Yew Chen (Managing Partner, CLO) stated that the merger strengthens CLO’s bench in litigation, arbitration, and projects, and aligns with client demand for support in corporate advisory, transactional matters, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution.
The combined expertise of the firms will allow CLO to deliver enhanced advisory services while providing clients with access to a broader regional network for cross-border matters.
Currently, John Mathew, senior partner and co-head of restructuring and insolvency, as well as head of CLO’s dispute resolution practice, will continue to contribute to the firm’s growth and strategy in dispute resolution following the merger.
Christopher & Lee Ong (CLO) is a leading Malaysian law firm, a member of the Rajah & Tann Asia network, known for its strong practices in Real Estate, Banking, Energy, Infrastructure, and Corporate M&A. The firm handles high-value transactions with a significant regional presence and a growing team of over 100 fee earners, offering comprehensive legal support in Southeast Asia. Sanjay Mohan Advocates & Solicitors, a highly regarded boutique law firm specializing in construction, engineering, and commercial litigation, merged with CLO effective January 1, 2026, further strengthening CLO’s expertise and presence in Malaysia.
