CMS Announces Adrian Bell As Its Next UK LLP Managing Partner
CMS Announces Adrian Bell as Its Next UK LLP Managing Partner
The global law firm, CMS, has announced the appointment of Adrian Bell as the firm’s next Managing Partner for the UK LLP.
Adrian joined the firm in 2002 and currently serves as Partner and Co-Head of CMS’s globally recognized Infrastructure, Construction and Energy Disputes Practice, which has achieved Band 1 rankings in both Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners.
In addition to his UK leadership, Adrian has acted as Joint Managing Director for APAC and the Middle East since 2017—a tenure marked by significant regional growth. Under his leadership, CMS expanded its footprint with new offices in Abu Dhabi (2020) and Riyadh (2023), and celebrated a decade of success in Oman (2024). The firm also launched its Australian presence with a Brisbane office (2019) and achieved substantial growth in Hong Kong, including key hires across corporate, funds, and infrastructure disputes practices.
Adrian will commence his four-year term as Managing Partner in April 2026, succeeding Stephen Millar, who will continue in the role until that time.
Commenting on the appointment, Charles Currier, Senior Partner at CMS, said,
“Adrian has a proven track record of driving strategic growth, fostering innovation, and building high-performing teams. I am confident that he will lead the firm with excellence, creativity, and integrity while strengthening the sense of community within CMS.”
Expressing his gratitude, Adrian Bell said,
“It’s an honour to take on the role of Managing Partner, particularly at such an exciting time for the legal sector. I’m inspired by our exceptional colleagues and clients across CMS’s global network and look forward to building on our strong foundations to achieve our ambitious growth goals.”
