Dechert LLP Welcomes Back Phillip Sacks as Managing Partner in Dubai
The premier global law firm, Dechert LLP has appointed Phillip Sacks as the new Managing Partner of its Dubai office. Sacks rejoins the firm after a brief stint at White & Case in 2023. He originally joined Dechert as a partner in 2016 and spent over seven years practising in the firm’s Dubai office.
With nearly 20 years of experience, including 14 years in the Middle East, Sacks focuses on financial services and investment management. He advises financial institutions, fund managers and sovereign wealth funds on the structuring and establishment of both conventional and Shariah-compliant investment funds.

Dechert opened its first Middle East office in Dubai in 2012, and the firm’s global financial services and investment management team comprises more than 200 lawyers worldwide.
Experience
Phillip Sacks previously served as Partner at White & Case LLP in Dubai since November 2023. Prior to that, he was a Partner at Dechert LLP from June 2016 to November 2023. Earlier in his career, he worked as Partner at King & Spalding between September 2011 and June 2016 in Dubai, and began his international legal career as an Associate at Walkers from September 2007 to August 2011.
Education
Sacks holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) and a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) from Murdoch University (1997–2001). He completed his earlier education at Scotch College.
