Don Vieira Rejoins Skadden As Partner In Washington, D.C.
Don Vieira rejoins Skadden as Partner in Washington, D.C.
Global law firm, Skadden, has welcomed back Don Vieira as a Partner in its Washington, D.C. office, effective September 9, 2025. Mr. Vieira will lead Skadden’s Technology Policy practice, guiding clients on challenges in the rapidly evolving technology sector, with a focus on regulatory matters, enforcement, AI governance, and emerging legal and policy frameworks.
Mr. Vieira brings extensive experience advising companies on government investigations, foreign investment, national security, privacy, cybersecurity, data security, artificial intelligence, export enforcement, cross-border transactions, high-stakes litigation, and intellectual property protection. Prior to rejoining Skadden, he served as Chief Legal and Policy Officer at Sequoia Capital.
Commenting on the hire, Jeremy London, Executive Partner at Skadden, said,
“Don is returning to the firm at an exciting time of strategic growth, as we continue to make investments that enhance our leadership at the forefront of investigations, national security and regulatory issues that impact key industries and sectors. Don’s deep experience in the technology sector aligns with our commitment to providing innovative solutions to the evolving and global challenges our clients face.”
Previously a national security partner at Skadden from 2017-2019, Mr. Vieira has a distinguished background spanning both public and private sectors, including roles as Chief of Staff for the Department of Justice’s National Security Division, Counselor to the Assistant Attorney General for National Security, Deputy Chief Counsel to the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, and Staff Director of HPSCI’s Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations.
James Carroll, Global Head of Skadden’s Litigation/Controversy Practices, added:

Mr. Vieira holds a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and is a graduate of Boston University. He has received numerous awards, including the Office of the Director of National Intelligence’s Award for Community Excellence and the 2011 Attorney General Award for Exceptional Service, and has been recognized as one of D.C.’s Tech Titans and Most Influential People by Washingtonian.
