Elizabeth Sinclair Rejoins Clifford Chance As Partner In London, Strengthening Global Antitrust Practice

Elizabeth Sinclair Rejoins Clifford Chance As Partner In London, Strengthening Global Antitrust Practice
Clifford Chance has announced the appointment of Elizabeth Sinclair as a Partner in its Global Antitrust Group, based in London, marking the firm’s third senior antitrust hire in the past year. The move signals the firm’s ongoing commitment to expanding its capabilities amid heightened regulatory scrutiny and increasing complexity in global antitrust regimes.
Sinclair rejoins Clifford Chance from Amazon, where she served as Senior Counsel for competition matters across the UK and EU. During her four-year tenure at the tech giant, she gained valuable insight into digital market dynamics, regulatory engagement, and competition enforcement in the technology sector. Her role spanned critical aspects of competition law, including merger control, investigations, and emerging regulatory frameworks such as the EU Digital Markets Act (DMA) and UK Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers (DMCC) Bill.
Prior to Amazon, Sinclair held senior positions at the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), where she led several complex enforcement and merger cases. She brings deep experience in UK and EU antitrust law, combined with strong institutional knowledge from both public and in-house roles.
Commenting on her return, Nelson Jung, Partner and Head of the London Antitrust team, said,
“We are delighted to have Elizabeth rejoin our team. Her extensive experience and deep understanding of the tech sector will be a tremendous asset as we continue to expand our antitrust capabilities. Elizabeth’s return will help us meet the growing demand for antitrust expertise and provide exceptional service to our clients across multiple jurisdictions.”
Sinclair said,
“The opportunity to reconnect with such a talented team is extremely exciting. I look forward to contributing to the continued success of the global antitrust team by driving impactful solutions for clients and building on the strong relationships across our practice areas.”
The appointment comes at a time when Clifford Chance continues to advise on a series of high-profile antitrust mandates, including representing Delivery Hero in settling the European Commission’s cartel investigation into food delivery services, Aviva in its acquisition of Direct Line Group, and BlackRock in its acquisition of HPS Investment Partners.
Sinclair’s addition further cements Clifford Chance’s position as a go-to firm for complex antitrust and regulatory issues, particularly at the intersection of competition law and digital markets.
